I have been to Iceland, 3 years ago. Rented a car and spent a week driving around the island, stopped at various place to go for hikes. Iceland is great, I loved the remote places on the eastern and northern sides of the island. Would liked to go to Iceland agian this summer to see the vulcano in real life.
No, didn't get the time to investigate the western part. So many nice and interesting things to see in the east and the north, had to go straight from Akureiri to Keflavik to get on the plane back to Winterland >:)

Have you been to the western side also... its really beautiful :) yu should try that next tima! but i agree the eastern side is the best :D
